Perun subframe is heavy duty...

I'm on my second 2020 690. On the first, the upper tank weldnuts broke off the frame. What a hassle. On this one, I just installed the Perun kit. As a retired mechanical engineer who geeks out over bolted joint design, I'd say the new upper hardware is a big step up in joint strength and shock robustness. I'm less convinced about the bottom. For one, harder bushing transmit higher load spikes. Complient bushings are there to smooth off those peaks. So the stronger hardware is now required. I'll see how it all holds up this season.

A better solution to the subframe bolt problem.

Great kit

This is a great kit. I had a 2009 KTM 690 Enduro and it broke a front pivot bolt before I knew about this kit. I got a new GasGas ES700- Red 690- and immediately installed this kit before the bike even had 100 miles on it to prevent any future issues. If you own a 690/701/700 get this kit. Not a hard install. Once installed you’ll never have to worry about issues again.
