This fits the hero 8 and you get 2 straps, plus counter weights. The issue is the clamp for the counter weights. Did a work around. The bonus is the clamp I used balances the go pro, no counter weight used! So, on to the next phase of learning the gimbal modes. Oh, I also got the wired remote. So trial and error time

Good, not great, but does the job

Just got the kit for my Hero 8. Bracket screw assembly was easy but take extra care not to cross thread when tightening. Camera housing fit to bracket was snug, no play. Elastic band was easy to strap around camera but take care not to stretch unevenly as the band holes will overstretch and may compromise durability over time due to weathering and aging. The band was molded with a loop at one end to anchor the band when stretched. The band has 7 adjustment holes, like a belt. This band design could have been better. Why have 7 band holes when it is not feasible or necessary to stretch the band and secure the camera to each hole? Each hole removes material from the band which negatively impacts the durability of the material over time. Yes, more holes provide better elasticity so when secured the hole doesn’t snap but this could have been addressed when molding the band thickness and size at the ends of the band. Didn’t like the loop at the end as it eats away at the available clearance between the mount housing and the gimbal. I flipped the band install direction so when band is stretched the band would compress the loop to give back a little more clearance. The counterweight mount is a little clunky and not good user experience but works. The camera balance with counterweight is near the bend on the roll arm of the gimbal. The spacer may snag at the bend so when trying to find the right location to secure the counterweight. You may find it cumbersome. What adds to the not so great user experience is the band covers up the power button and shutter bottoms. With the holes stretched over these buttons, pressing the button is very inconsistent requiring multiple attempts to actuate the buttons. If the holes were not present, users could press on the band and would likely get better button action. Could have saved cost by not shipping the screwdriver as one is already shipped with the gimbal. The screwdriver is the most expensive part in the kit considering the mount is 3D printed and the elastic band is cheap. Spare screws would likely be more useful than a spare driver, in my opinion.

Great kit to keep your EVO SS rolling with HERO8

Something about the field of view provided by a gimbal just cannot be matched by a standard GoPro mount. The kit is easy to install and the balancing kit is an added bonus that also allows you to minimize associated gimbal noise with a perfectly balanced unit. The 4K footage looks amazing and the field of view is always perfect. If you have an EVO SS and HERO 8, don't hesitate on this purchase.
