Yosemite National Park Map 1914

Well made, good materials, a joy to look at

We’ve hiked Yosemite high country for decades. This map is from a version two years before it became a national park. Many of the features are unnamed or have earlier names. It’s fun to see how the park was presented back then. For example, Hetch Hetchy is shown as a valley, not a reservoir ;^) All the geographical / geological features are there, of course. And shown quite well. It’s easy for me to see all the places we’ve hiked over the years, from Tuolumne Meadows to the Valley. I bought it mounted and, interestingly enough, for the first few weeks I had it on a table, slightly tilted east to west, and it gave me a real perspective of the rivers running “downhill” and the lay of the land. Looks good on the wall as well. The map quality is excellent as have all the maps I’ve gotten from Muir-Way. The mounting was of high quality as well. Get one for yourself, mounted or not, and one for that other map lover or hiker in the family.
