I typically use the Mustang Survival Traction open finger gloves but when the temperature drops, the closed finger glove provides me with both the ability to keep warm and the tactile precision that is necessary to fish effectively. There are a lot of gloves on the market, but it is essential to have a glove that allows you to control the breaking on a casting reel with your thumb, and to feel the vibration of a spinning reel with your index finger. Otherwise you end up fishing in an awkward style that affects presentation and the placement of your bait. This glove does not require me to change my fishing style, which took me decades to develop. I always have a pair on the boat during the winter months and I think there is no alternative. Like all the Mustang gloves, this model is high quality, and designed with fishermen in mind.
