Great introduction to Rubber Guard
Excellent overview of Rubber Guard, how it was born, how it's developed over the years. Includes some great sequences that will nicely complement more traditional techniques. Look forward to working it into my training!

Not your usual instructional – part documentary and part technique
This is a different sort of product, part documentary and part techniques, but it feels to me more like a tour through 10th Planet history and a subset of techniques, rather than a traditional technique based instructional (e.g., in a traditional technique based instructional techniques are generally broken down by chapter, detailed step by step instruction, repeated demonstrations with different angles to the camera and then a final repetition at normal speed). This instructional provides a great introduction to part of the 10th Planet System with a focus on the development of old school full rubber guard (i.e., you are starting from full guard), contemporary full rubber guard, ¾ rubber guard (i.e., one of your legs is caught between the opponent’s legs), and very briefly rubber guard entries from bottom half guard and prison guard, but in my opinion, it would be over selling it to say that this is a detailed step by step instructional on the rubber guard in the traditional sense. As the chapters are longer than normal and each chapter covers a range of techniques it is less convenient in terms of navigation. The instructional has a total runtime of 2 hours and 56 minutes. Eddie is charismatic and interesting, he kept me engaged and I certainly enjoyed watching this instructional. He is certainly knowledgeable, as you would expect from the person who invented this system. In this instructional when going over techniques he discusses around the topic, providing insights and then teaches and demonstrates the technique often including options. He also discusses how he adjusts techniques (e.g., Mexican dead orchard) to make them work if your leg length is an issue. Video (quality including range and focus) and sound are excellent with no issues to be concerned about. The instructional appears to have been filmed with a stabilised handheld camera. The available previews are consistent with the whole instructional. If you are generally interested in No-Gi BJJ then I would recommend getting this instructional, particularly when there is a sale. You are likely to find it interesting and if it does whet your appetite for rubber guard then there are a number of other complementary rubber guard instructionals available from this site. In my opinion a great complementary instructional is the “Rubber Guard: The Meathook by Brandon McCaghren”. Hope you have fun.

No complaints whatsoever! Lots of solid history and much more explanation on why the techniques work than I’ve ever seen before! Rubber guard is really unique and I really want to see a twister series soon! I like this system because I have fairly flexible hips and this helps me control bigger guys. Content is great, and it’s a good introduction to the 10th planet system. Keep it up Eddie!
