Dirt Road Sportster

I finally got these installed the other day and got some miles on them both in the dirt and on the highway. Here’s my initial 100+ mile impression: If you’re trying to turn a Sportster into a scrambler/tracker, these are a good place to start. I know it’s a square peg, round hole sort of thing, but I wanted my daily rider to get me where I normally like to go. I run a lot of forest service roads for fun and highway to work. Road tires weren’t getting it done. These were still loose on sandy roads, but held their own on regular dirt/mud/clay. Highway riding was fine. There is a noticeable rumble from the lugs, but not nearly the highway hum I was expecting (like what you’d find on a pickup with knobbies). I road up at 80mph for a while and they still tracked fine, but again, not as smooth as 100% road tires. All in all, if you’re willing to sacrifice some small Highway comfort for the ability to take your bike to more adventuresome places, these are pretty good.
