Here is the deal. can you make this for far less than it costs? Absolutely! Do you really want to spend an hour or two making something that probably wont end up as nice or last as long? Nope. Just buy the thing and move on to a cooler part of your project. No one is looking at your plate mount. Quit being so vain.
