Top-tier flask that feels premium in the hand
I bought this leather-coated glass flask, and I love it. The leather has a great feel and fits the glass perfectly — a snug, permanent fit that beats the separate silicone sleeve variant I also tried, which wasn't nearly as form-fitting (though if you like to fidget, it does give you something to flap around). The metal caps carry that same premium quality; the top is slightly heavier than the threaded end, and the weight distribution just feels right in the hand in a way I can't fully explain.
The included funnel looks like plastic in photos, but it's actually silicone. That rubberized flexibility helps it grip and stay in place while pouring, unlike a rigid plastic funnel that would tend to wiggle around.
As for the seals: the cork works fine, and I've had no issues in about a month of use. That said, silicone is the objectively better choice — I'll switch once the cork wears out, unless you're after old-fashioned charm for its own sake.
On care: the FAQ outlines steps for waterproofing the leather, but I haven't bothered. I'd rather just handle it carefully. More important is a warning worth repeating: don't freeze this flask, and don't fill it with liquor straight from the freezer. It might survive, but I suspect that's exactly how the flasks in other reviews ended up shattering. There's also a subtler risk — extreme cold causes condensation to form on the leather, and since it's not waterproof, that moisture could damage the dyes over time. Chilled whiskey has its place, but a flask is built for portability, and room temperature is the realistic expectation here.
The glass interior preserves flavor in a way metal flasks simply can't match. That alone makes it worth it. I couldn't be happier, and I'd recommend this flask to anyone.
One more thing worth mentioning: when I was researching flasks beforehand, the silicone version seemed like the smarter buy — it's about half the price, and the sleeve is removable and replaceable. Committing to the leather, with its extra care and no way to take it off, felt like it might not be worth the money. But once I actually had it in my hands, the purchase justified itself immediately.
