It uses an odd connector for charging, other than that it’s great.

It may have had D8 mode until I updated the firmwhare, I did not think to make a mental note. But I know it doesn't now. Open TX legacy firmware is not to forthcoming on saying which version has it or not. I dont like the 7.2 volt set up, the battery does not last as long as the 11 volt in my original Taranus. Still radio is nice, no crashes because of failure, old Tarranis I did lose a plane by accidently turning it off, so new hold down button is great, love the case and being able to keep the radio is nice condition. My old one is like 6 or 7 years old and it shows it without having a case. It has hot glued antenna to scrapes and scratches from being tossed around in my SUV. But it still works and can be used with my old D8 Rxs. So yeah getting upgrade was a no brainer.

Great battery to power radio & external TBS Crossfire

I have a Taranis X9D with a TBS Crossfire and this battery can run all day providing power to the radio and driving the external Crossfire giving me the ability to run the TBS at full power.
