I recently tried a friend’s Milwaukee FastBack folding utility knife to sharpen pencils at an art workshop and said, “Wow! This is great!” It is really comfortable to hold—I like the large area that I can wrap my hand around. I also find it to be safer than using a small blade which is standard for so many artists. If you haven’t found a “best way” to sharpen pencils, try a Milwaukee FastBack.
