New vs Old

I purchased a set of these shorts about a year ago and wanted to get some more so I ordered a few more recently. However, upon comparing the two pairs, I noticed that the original pair were much thicker and seems sturdier than the newer ones. In addition, the thighs are a bit snugger on the new ones compared to the last ones, regardless of the sizing. Kind of wish they would have kept the old design...
