HERO Wash

Disclosure: I received the product for free to test in application within a commercial printing setting. The product will mostly clean a print, but not quite to my personal standards. I worked with 3DRS staff to give this product as fair a shake as I could manage, but in the end we both admitted it wouldn't quite achieve the results I was looking for. The workflow required heating to at least 40C. I tested it with 2 6-minute cycles in an ultrasonic bath and then scrubbing the models afterward with a soft brush while still in the HERO wash. The surface was still tacky after rinsing and had resin left on it that cleaning in traditional spirits removed. I fear what might happen on the inside of a hollowed model that you cannot scrub though. If you aren't working with a thermally curable resin, you may run into problems with trapped liquid resin after model assembly. I'm really hopeful for some future iterations of a product like this, but it just isn't quite there for me yet. If you are thermally curing your parts or absolutely cannot have alcohols for cleaning, feel free to give it a shot. Just recognize that your models will never reach 100% clean before curing and you MUST agitate the surface with a brush to get your best results.
