STONE FLY Fly Rod, Reel, Line & Case Combo

Way more than I hoped for!

Honestly the rod and reel were more than I had hoped for. I purchased the 9ft 5wt. I wanted a package that I could grow with and I believe I struck gold. The action of the rod has made casting almost effortless. It is resposnive, but forgiving. The drag on the Talon is great, easy to manipulate, and smooth as can be, and the reel picks up line in a hurry. If you are new to fly fishing, look no further than the Stone Fly Rod and Reel Combo. The carrying case is great, protects your investment and super easy to store in the truck, because you never know when the right trout stream is around the corner. The fly line and leader cast extremely smooth, and the rod loads beautifully. I have heard wait till you feel the rod load up, and the cheapo I was using, I never could feel it. The Stone Fly you can feel it, if you let the rod do the work, you will be more than happy with your casting. I can not recommend this rod and reel any stronger. The ease of the cast, the quick retrieve on the line, it gives you confidence on the river. So far, I have used it for trout, Rainbos and Browns, and Small Mouth Bass. Handles both with ease. Maxxon has made me a customer and a believer for life.

The Stonefly setup is a great beginner or back up setup. Responsive and can handle a number of flies from the big streamers to the delicate dry. It’s nice the start with a matched set. From line all the way up to the rod, built to work together
