1" Radius Skew

First skew, probably last skew

Delved into the skew world. Not inexpensive, but like all Carter and Son tools, built uncompromisingly well and arrived sharp and useful. I will never have to purchase another one unless I for some reason want a different size.

Great so far

I bought the 1” radius skew unhandled and turned my own handle (used Sorby brass ferrules). I also re-profiled the bevel since it was a little obtuse for my liking (I like 45 degrees total angle for hardwoods) I’ve used it a few times and it cuts like a dream. I’d say my edge lasts about 100% longer than my M2 chisels making planing and peeling cuts. Impressed so far

Super happy with the tool and performance! They state that they are ready to go out of the box, but I did have to strop this one and the roughing gouge I got because they both had a burr still. Other than that and since then they have been perfect!
