I bought this for my 4-year-old grandson, and it was a fantastic hands-on learning experience. He witnessed the caterpillars form chrysalis and then emerge into butterflies, that he then released into his garden. Instead of Journaling and drawing, he took pictures of the metamorphosis every other day. It stimulated his interest in reading books about butterflies from the library. We ordered the same butterfly habitat for his cousin in Florida, and it was also a big hit.

My daughters (2 and 4 years old) absolutely loved watching their caterpillars turn to butterflies. All 5 caterpillars turned to beautiful butterflies and were released. Highly recommend
