Does great job covering the light into a long throw flash
Dave · November 13, 2024
Interesting but not mind blowing
I need to swap back my OG lens to see if there is really much difference but I don’t really see it (in regards to throwing further). It def concentrates it into a neat, tight beam with little spill but I’m not entirely sure it’s any brighter or throws further than the lens it comes with. What I really loved about this was the chance to tinker with my light without worrying about parts fitting. I think it’s cool and wish they’d make more add ons for folks like me that wanna tinker but don’t know how. I want to give this a higher rating but truly, for the price and result, I think 3 strong stars is fair.

Great Lens Upgrade (if you don't need the spill).
Pros: If you want an aspheric lens light this is great value imo. They hexagonal hot spot is pretty cool. The transition edge between the hot spot and spill light is not as 'crisp' as others I have seen. But square vs hex...nuff said. My Quark is a dedicated spotty now. Great for direct light applications where spill light is a hindrance. Cons: Say good bye to your spill light. I did notice some 'light pink' patterns at 30cm from a white wall. The lens is clean, so not sure what it is. You can only see them when close to a wall. At greater than 1m+ distance you can't notice it anymore. US dollar conversion to AU is terrible atm... so it cost half the price of what I paid for my Quark.
