Steeda S550 Mustang Strut Tower Brace

Good quality item

This is a heavy duty strut brace that looks amazing. The hardest part was attaching the Steeda name plate. There isn't enough clearance for the 7mm nuts and I had to file some of the strut for a good fit. The spacers could do with being a millimetre thinner for the suspension bolts to reach the nylon of the locking nuts. But overall very happy with it.

Good overall but the screw/bolts to fix the logo plate are a poor design as the nuts foul on the brace on the underside

Review spacers

Item arrived prompt and well packaged. Spacers provided are 8+mm thick. Supplied with nylon nuts. Nylon nut to function correctly requires minimum 2 threads above. Not achieved with supplied spacers. If spacers were reduced to 5+mm item would feel more secure as threads would be showing above nylocs. Item seems to make very little difference to handling when sports pack fitted, as has factory unit from strut, to firewall to strut fitted. Mounting name plate on to brace is provided with machine screws again too short for the nylocs to function correctly. Awaiting that to undo them selves.
