I liked John Dixon's approach to this book. He has written an easy to read and understand exposition of humanity and our need to understand sadness and pain. His broad review of belief systems and even atheistic viewpoints provides sound 'food foe thought'. I was a little perplexed by the final outcome of this book; seems appropriate for the age old question why do we experience sadness and pain?
