Delicate and fresh and better than expected
This is my first tasting of Bi Lo Chun. Though I do love fennel I didn’t notice any fennel notes. But I also probably miss most such notes. Perhaps they are beyond me or perhaps I need more time. What I did notice and love is the fresh delicate taste. Maybe the delicacy is reinforced by the softness of the leaves after brewing? In any case I really am quite happy with this tea and will order again!

Bi Lou Chun Spring 2025
When I opened the bag I was greeted by a strong breeze of passion fruit and mango. The leafs are small, hairy and have a beautiful green color. The Bi Luo Chun tastes really fresh, with notes of lime zest and green vegetables. Good price for such a high quality. The best Bi Luo Chun I had so far.

One of my favorite types of tea!
Bi Luo Chun is one of my favorite varietals of tea and the production from Eco-Cha is a solid option. If this is not already one of the staple teas in your rotation, and if you have never tried it, I highly recommend getting a box of this and giving it a shot. Definitely start with the brewing parameters as described in the brewing guide if you have not made this tea before. How to brew is very much a personal thing, but for what it's worth, I'll add some information on how I prefer to brew it. I like the cold brew a lot stronger, so I'll do closer to a 1g:100ml ratio, which is 4 to 4.5g in a mason jar with 440ml, which is about 15oz of water and what a US 2 cup Ball jar comfortably holds. I also like to throw the leaves in a hydroflask at about the same 1:100 ratio or even a touch stronger and add 185ºF water, let it brew for a few minutes, and pour out an ounce or two at a time into a 70-140ml tasting cup; brewed this way, it's good for about 3 infusions for me, and I tend to drink each infusion to about 90%. In the rare case the bottom half of the flask gets too strong for me, I'll add more water sooner rather than later. Happy steeping!
