Great socks thus far

I bought two pairs of Model 1480 recently and so far they have met every expectation. I will give them a real workout on our next trip abroad. A few notes for buyers trying to decide on size and type: I wear a size 11-1/2 shoe and initially ordered XL because I was near the upper end of the range for Large and thought there might be shrinkage. But tere was 1/2" - 1" of extra fabric at the toe, so I exchanged for Large which fit much better. I went with the "no cushion" Model 1480 and am glad I did since they are thicker than the synthetic blend "Gold Toe" socks I wore before. A Darn Tough cushioned model would have been too thick for my liking. I also prefer the extra height of a mid-calf over a "crew" height, but that's personal preference.
