I got these for an odd project. I'm repairing an old plow which had rusted moldboards. They are hardened; nothing was really cleaning off the rusty scale. I was able to get a very smooth surface with this kit, the non-hardened steel came to a mirrored finish; the hardened surface is pretty shiny, nice and smooth, (not quite read-the-newspaper clear though) this kit performed better than I expected. The included compound does go pretty quick, so might want to order some extra of that.
