Great redundancy system
I have a well that used to be run with a windmill, but eventually I had to convert it to solar with RPS. The only issue I had was that during monsoon season we don’t always get enough sun to ensure the cattle have enough water. This part ensures that I can connect a generator or backup battery to the system, and I have not run out of water in the tanks since. Glad that RPS has methods to build redundancies into these off the grid wells!

400 RPS solar pump review on helicoil part removal and replacement and recommendations
I have been using the RPS-400 solar pump (4 solar panels) for over 8 years, I started to have problems at year #4 with the pump not pumping water with enough pressure, the pump has a helicoil elements that as it rotates it pumps the water, if you have sediment in the water the helicoil element will get worn out, but the pump has a lifetime warranty. The RPS team help me troubleshoot the problem, they sent me a new helicoil part and instructions to replace it, the hardest part was to pull the pump out, but the instructions were clear if you are mechanically inclined, since pulling the pump out is hard work I recommend replacing the low well water sensor at the same time. also if you are installing the pump more than 100 ft in depth I recommend using the 1/2" poly pipe so the pump works more efficiently. The RPS team are very supportive, and once you understand how the controller works and how to replace the helicoil part you are set for life. I do recommend the RPS-400 solar pump for remote locations.
