It’s noisy in my opinion disappointing results for $1000.00
Hi guys, FYI. My name is Mike
Recently, I replaced my oem + star ramp compensator ( The Star ramp replaced the standard oem ramp at the time of my dealer installed 131 stage 4 upgrade.
Also I decided to replace the oem auto primary chain adjuster ( In my unprofessional opinion ,seemed to adjust my chain too tight according to the manual specs) while I was at it.
The updated oem compensator assembly was replaced by me with a Baker armored manual primary chain adjuster
I wanted to make sure my primary chain tension was not going to create any issues due to the temptation of letting the throttle rip once in a while with the new HP and torque produced by the up grade.
I decided to check my primary chain tension and found that is was according to the Harley Owners manual “way too tight”
I did some homework and contacted Baker on the phone with some questions about their replacement products and made up my mind to install the Baker 34 tooth compensator and Baker armored manual primary chain adjuster
Prior to this install I never heard any of the noises with the oem set up that I’m hearing now coming from the primary case.
The whining sound and slight rumbling noise that is now heard is disappointing to me unacceptable.
I was not aware that these new Baker primary assemblies would not work any better and are a lot louder than the original parts that were on the bike.
I regretted the installation of these two products so I sent an email and or a phone call questioning why I was not informed about the amount and types of noise these primary products produced when I contacted them prior to making the purchase and if it was too late to return these items
I did not receive a response except for this product review request.
I would not recommend installing either of these assemblies.
Prior to this install , I never heard or felt any noises coming from the primary at all.
