I ordered one in walnut and couldn’t be happier. It is a work of art and very functional. I have dedicated this to non-digital focus areas of my life including reading, writing drawing, painting and music. It is just the right size and always inspires me.

A Table is A Friend

The right table is a part of one's family, and, potentially, a transformative, ontological tool. I consider reading and writing an essential part of being human, and without a table, I noticed that I did not read (I am collector of books and literature, for the words in them should be as beautiful as the vessel which keeps them) nor write (I want to be a writer) as much, and I had not owned a table for almost 25 years before the arrival of The oak Steinbeck Desk. Now, I have a new friend in my life to whom I can relate and upon whom I can open up many books and lay my pens and paper all around. In so many pieces, arranged in space, in the plain, naked style of your closest friend, the tree gives itself —art for your body, mind, and soul to work through and around. A friend such as a table guides the lesser known, nascent self to dine on a simple meal, to hold your liquid in a simple glass with a flower or a candle among the faces who join you in a sunrise and a sunset.
