Well made and engaging for 4-year-old+
We have been on the hunt for fun board games for the family that our four-year-old can play. This one is adorable and involves a little bit of strategy mixed with luck, so it's a nice balance of keeping the grown-ups engaged and the little ones able to play competitively. This is not a cooperative game; there is a winner. You move your player around the board, collecting items from each garden "shop" and then making it back to your garden first. The game utilizes a spinner rather than a dice, so that is also a fun change from many board games. The characters are non-gendered. The only downside to this game is that the directions are quite lacking; we had to figure out our own rules for some aspects of play. I also wished for a little more ecological sense (the types of vegetables and fruits wouldn't grow at the same time in the same place; the bird names were generic instead of specific) but that is perhaps too much to ask, ha ha. We enjoy this game the more we play it--it took a bit to warm up to it but now we have fun with it!
