SADF Pattern 83 Field Pack, "Grootsak"

Great piece of kit.

This pack is a classic. Hard wearing, practically bomb-proof. Comes without a frame-the frames are even harder to find. Has built in straps and hip belt, but for those interested it fits well on an LK-35 frame which can be found relatively easily on the internet. Add some ALICE straps and a hip pad and you’re good to go. Comfortable carry. It would be great if they created reproductions-I think they would be very popular. Great customer support-you’re talking with a person, not just a computer generated response. They’re very helpful. Highly recommended.

The Big Brown Bag

Great bag for any adventure. Enough room to pack for a weekend getaway in desert or mountains. The 4 side pockets are great especially if you pair it with the SADF 2L Water Bottles. For a serviceable+ bag it's only missing a portion of the little tie down straps that's located under the big flap. Not a big issue that can easily be remedied since the buckles are still present. Overall highly recommend.

Surprisingly big

Alot more usable space than thought, that and pretty practical pocket sizes and shapes. This attached to an Alice pack has become my favorite ruck putting something like a mystery ranch to shame for a fraction of the price. I’ll probably pick up a second just to have due to how much I enjoy this one.
