Molded side mount

I am very happy with the molded side mount I chose for mounting my 102" stainless whip. Not only is this a robust mounting point it, looks great on the rear quarter panel of my Jeep TJ.

I installed this so that I had a CB antenna mount that was more convenient then the dome mount in the middle of the roof. I put this mount on the D pillar of the rig such that the 3' antenna had about 2.5' sticking above the roof line. Installing the mount was not trivial only because the side of the truck was far from vertical. I shaved the mount itself at the bottom to attempt to make it stick straight up but had to take some off the gasket to. Basically made it a door stop looking piece of rubber. The mount is great and feels well made. there is little flex in the mount and the cable was easy to hook up to it. If you are willing to put a little work into it then mounting on a not vertical surface can be done, but a vertical face would be much easier.
