I was afraid Cody, my cockatiel, would be miserable wearing a collar. It only took him a day to get used to it. The soft material is light weight and non-irritating. The XS size is perfect for a cockatiel. I don't know what one would do with a flighted bird if it needed a collar, but Cody has arthritic wings and can't fly anyway. (The hat is AI; the collar is real)

Nice idea but doesn't work with my bird

My bird found the velcro and detached the collar in about 2 minutes. I don't know if a strong snap or some other closure would be more effective, as birds are smart and good at solving problems. Anyway, think about it before you spend the $50 on this.

This collar is well made and seems to be helping keep my cockatoo from picking at her leg. It's easy to put on and off. She can get to her food and water as wanted. It's very soft.
