Excellent Ski for Back Country Adventures small and large
Bought in 2025 and not used till 2026 but I have the NATO ski and my history on 3pin boots and bindings to blame for that.
These ski are much lighter and flexible to cope with all I threw at them while in Finland, Sweden, Norway border area in temperatures around -18 to -4 C. The ability to control the ski while pulling a pulk of about 50Kg ( 8 days supplies ) is excellent, in soft snow the front easily lifts to make breaking trail much easier too so all in all I loved them.
I have been trying a 2/3 skin system where the central skin stays on and a cut down full length skin does the front only, giving a 1/2 way house to a full skin. This makes swapping much easier. Inclines were taken on with just as much grip as a full skin in my mind and makes the fitting easier in winds and snow.
