Perfect training uniform for Hapkido!
About a month ago, I started training in Hapkido. As someone who's practiced Taekwondo for years, I’ve gotten a little particular about the kind of uniform I like to train in. The school I attend provides basic white twill karate-style uniforms—they're affordable, but honestly, they’re low quality. Even after a dozen washes, they still feel scratchy and don’t fit well at all. I knew I wanted something better—specifically, a ribbed fabric uniform like the ones I used to wear in Taekwondo. I tried a few other brands first, but none of them really checked all the boxes. Then I found the BMA open-style uniform, and it’s hands down the best-fitting and most comfortable one I’ve worn so far. Back in my Taekwondo days (20 years ago), I wore BMA’s v-neck uniforms and loved them. That solid experience is what made me give this open-style version a shot. Since my Hapkido school requires the open-style top (no v-necks allowed), it ended up being a perfect fit—literally and figuratively. Pros: The starch washes out easily after only a of couple washes Comfortable ribbed fabric that feels great during training Excellent fit compared to generic uniforms Good durability and stitching quality Lightweight and breathable without feeling flimsy Matches the open-style uniform requirements for Hapkido training Cons: The shipping price to NC is $20, a bit pricey for a single uniform.
