No. 8 Chef Skillet

Fabulous

I’ve always been very leery of cooking eggs in a cast iron pan until I bought our new smithey. It’s great for everything I’ve tried so far and keeps getting better. It’s by far the best small skillet I’ve owned in my 60+ years.

Almost perfect

I wanted to get rid of my probably toxic but extremely nonstick and convenient to clean ceramic pans. I was planning on buying a cheap Lodge cast iron pan from TJ Maxx and started researching the best US made cast iron. All websites mentioned Smithey as one of the smoothest and best and all reviews were great. I ordered 3 pieces and 2 were perfect. The 8" chef skillet is almost perfect, but the very center has an imperfection that catches on my metal spatula and collects food.

No 8 Chef Skillet

I bought this kind of as a test to see how it compared with my other case iron. I wasn’t disappointed! The food slides off with no sticking. Sautéed food flip is fun again! Definitely passed the test I will be ordering more!
