Rookie doing plotter maintenance

I have 2 HP Designjet 500s I've used for many years. I had a fantastic service guy who took care of them all that time. He move to Albuquerque recently ... now it's me. I've downloaded the service manual and found your youtube series extremely helpful. Between these resources the machines are functioning well. Be patient with me as I go through the learning curve on plotter repair. I don't yet know how much I don't know.

We do not use our plotter as much as we did a decade ago, but when we need it, it sure comes in handy. We likely will not purchase another plotter when this one has a catastrophic failure, so the reconditioned service station and Bob’s excellent (and entertaining) installation video has extended the life and usefulness of our plotter for the foreseeable future.

All went well. Ran into brief question on a fan in our particular plotter model that had to be removed and reinstalled. It was not possible to reinstall original plastic snap in fan cover but the service station went back in fine and plotter is fully operational. LPS has variety of replacement parts and good install video. I would recommend this route if you are at all DIY inclined. Service station exchange is also benefit on part pricing.
