I’m so happy with my new ocarina!! The sound is beautiful, it’s elegant, love th design, plays easily and beautifully, came to Europe safely and arrived right on time! 5 stars and would buy again at any time! Hugely recommend a songbird ocarina!

Delighted with my new ocarina

I have zero musical training and not-so-great ears for music, but I wanted to learn to play an instrument so I chose the ocarina. I bought a cheap one from another brand, but once I realized ocarinas were an instrument I could commit to, I decided to treat myself and bought the Seedpod Ocarina in Jade Crackle. It’s beautifully made. The color is robin’s egg blue or one may say, it’s a darker Tiffany blue. I like the crackle glaze (my boyfriend thought the ocarina was actually cracked when I first showed it to him). The size is about 3” at its widest and around 3” tall. It feels comfortable in my hands and I can definitely feel it when it’s hanging down my neck. The cord necklace has sliding knots to adjust its length and it seems strong. It’s the thin loop of cord that attaches the ocarina to the necklace that has me a bit worried. Other than that, it’s a pleasure to play with this ocarina because it sounds nice even though I’m still a newbie at it.

Middle Schooler's Delight! (in jade crackle)

For hours my 13 year old son and I poured over the Songbird website, listening to every sound sample and looking at every ocarina. The seedpod size is a perfect beginners size, and the jade crackle is even more lovely in person. Really it was the haunting sound of the ocarina that counted...although there were so many runner ups, that my son admitted that he planned on getting another-perhaps the dragons tooth, and then the star key, maybe the tai chi pendant??? If you are getting the picture that ocarinas are addictive then you would not be wrong. Even I now have my eye on a sweet potato! The seedpod came quickly, was nicely boxed and already had the necklace attached. The looks and the sound are so charming that my son went to sleep at night with the ocarina by his bed. Thanks Songbird for a great instrument!
