Sturdy enough, but paint chips off

On receiving my sun umbrella ground stake, I was impressed with both the size and solid looking quality of the stake. However, on first use, the paint chipped right off due to needing to hammer it into the ground. It would be helpful if a larger spot was made to hammer on, instead of the thin ridge at the top of the stake. Also I found the holding handle and pole shaft to be too near the top
