Drilling through stainless steel is a tough job. Using a Hougen mag drill with annular cutters makes for short work. My first attempt burned up the annular cutter. Cutting was done with water pouring into the cut. Keeping the cut cool is the key. No damage to the cutter with this process. Mild steel use Hougen's lubricant. No problem.
