Miller Welding Helmet Bib - 253882

Underwhelmed.

The protective top bib is supposed attach to the rear of the helmet and protect the back of the head and neck from spatter. I liked the material, although the overall size of the bib was fairly small and wouldn't fully cover my neck; it seemed like a good fire retardant material. However, my issue was the use of Velcro pieces for an attachment method to the welding helmet. This method makes no sense to me. At a cost of almost thirty dollar I would have expected the bib to be a bit bigger and have a better method for attaching the bib to the helmet. Needless to say I decided not to use this bib and purchased a different brands bib.

Helmet Bib

I was getting reflections from underneath my helmet so I added this bid. It works very well. Initially I had my helmet pushed down as far as it could go but as I moved my head around to view the “puddle” reflections would interfere but adding the bid fixed the problem. The bid is flexible and doesn’t add too much weight and seals out the light nicely.
