SEMCO Liquid Membrane™ Waterproofing

so far so good. covered a porch with finished exterior plywood and waterproofed. had a little rain the past few weeks and nothing got to the wood. was surprised that it is thinner than a latex paint. coverage was about 2/3 of what was stated after following directions to a T. had to order more. went on very smooth.

Product works wonderfully. First used it about 3 or 4 years ago to seal a wood structural beam that was found to be wicking water into the interior of the house where the beam is exposed. Because the beam has a significant checks and splitting from years of exposure before I first used Semco and continues to have severe exposure, I like to periodically recoat to ensure it's waterproofing protection which is what I did this year. Product appears to be durable and lasting after 3 or 4 years, mostly wanted to ensure coverage for any new openings and exposure.

I have completed two projects with Semco and as a DIY person, I find the product easy to use. My latest project was plywood decking for an exterior deck that has a roof. I used the Semco taping for the plywood seams and then applied two coats to a 140 sf area. Total product used was approximately 1.75 gallons. I was prepared for the possibility of using more product than the label said because this plywood decking had been weathered and soaked in the liquid membrane. I notice that after it has cured for approximately one week, it is still tacky when walking on it, but it is holding up well. It rained once and I noted that an area with a slight pool of water changed color after a few hours, but I swept the water away and when it dried, it was the original color. I am very satisfied with the product.
