Reading Wand

Oh my gosh this product is AMAZING! My daughter can practice Japanese (my mother’s native language) on her own when she wants and it works amazingly. I recommend this to any parents who are raising bilingual children.

I won the auction at our elementary school and couldn’t wait to see if my five year old girls would take to it. The didn’t just take to it…They use the wand and books every night before bed and sometimes in the morning to wake up. They love the books and I’m definitely going to purchase more books for them.

Child keeps switching mode back to English

I bought these books so that my child would *only* read in Chinese, so that she does not default to English. However she keeps changing the mode back to English, which defeats the purpose (and in fact reinforces the language I don’t want her to use). Given that a primary goal for using these books is for parents to “immerse” a child in a particular language, a highly necessary feature should be to allow parents to set the language (eg by making it much harder for the child to switch the language mode)
