Infallible Ilford!

I've been using FP4 in it's various guises for 45 years. As a beginner, student, semi-pro, and, well, I'm not going to say master, but I'd like to think know what I'm doing by now! I've made all the mistakes over the years and made some whole new ones along the way. This film however NEVER FAILS. I've over/under exposed it, got it hot, nearly frozen it, let it go way out of date, developed it in stale chemistry - I've tried my best to make it fail, but it's out foxed me so far! If you haven't tried it - why? It's wonderful stuff!

Clean, sharp and medium contrast with good detail

I really like FP4plus from Ilford. It's a great all round film for decent light conditions. It's perfect for Street, Landscape, or in my case motoring events where you want a nice retro feel. It retains good detail in the shadows and has easily boostable contrast where you need it without grain overload. I like to develop FP4plus in Ilfotec-HC for 8mins at box speed. Adding a little more time for agitations, I get a bit more contrast out of it. When I scan the images, I boost the contrast in digital post a little to get to where I need it to be.
