My experience with Cabin Depot was positive; good communication and service. My experience with the Martin Company's customer "service" in trying to solve a big problem with the MDV20P, however, was quite unpleasant and mostly unhelpful. The stove would light and produce heat as long as it was heating initially but the pilot would not stay lit overnight. The stove was installed in strict accordance with the instruction sheet. By the way, it's insane to think that insert-type drywall anchors can adequately support this stove. Tie into studs if you can. When I spoke with the heavily-accented customer "service" guy, he was more interested in whether or not my problem was covered by warranty than he was in helping me keep my shop faucets from freezing. An argument ensued, but before I hung up on him, I did manage to pry from him that they do NOT recommended cutting the thru-wall tubes, unlike the instructions! A few days later, we figured out on our own why: following the instructions, the outer tube was cut 1/2" too short and so, did not fully insert into the stove. I cut 1/2" off the inner tube and that solved the problem, NO thanks to Martin.

Unit runs great. I have two questions. Once you have set the dial to a specific spot, will the unit cycle to maintain that desired temperature? We are having intermittent pilot outages when our on- demand water heater is operating. Is there any way to adjust the pilot to mitigate this happening?
