Stetson Cavalry Hat II

Great starting base for a good-enough "Kilgore" hat for my purposes.

I'm no hat expert. I wanted a "Kilgore" hat, because, "Who doesn't?" Stetson Calvary Hat II, Crossed-Sabres Calvary hat pin, Commissioned Officer hat cord, and chin strap (don't know, but I need it) and I'm pretty damn close as far as I'm concerned. Got correct hat size, but for absolutely perfect fit used $7.99 hat reducing size kit from Amazon. Now I'm feelin' like Brer rabbit in a briar patch.

Sizing issue

I wear a 7 1/2 but this hat was easily 2 sizes to big even though it was tagged as a 7 1/2. I had a friend who wears a much larger size try it and it fit. Based upon how far off yhe sizing is I'm reluctant to try a different size. I love the hat style and not sure I would be happy with a different style. Plan on returning unless I can find a local buyer. Delivery was good and timely.
