Works great.... when it works

This is the 3rd ballast I've purchased in last 2 years. First one lasted two months, then melted housing, presumably from over heat. Second one lasted about a year, then green light (on-ok) went to blinking red. I use this with a UV bulb in a 1000 gal fish pond. It runs with the water pump/filter which is about 8 hours per day. When it runs, it does a great job of UV cleaning the water. UV bulb works great,
