Audio-Technica ATH-ADX5000 | Open-Back Dynamic Headphones

One of the Best Dynamic Headphones for Serious Listeners....

The ADX5000 often overlooked is a real sleeper of a headphone. Maybe not as glamorous looking as one of the exotic "zebra or coca paio?" etc wood cans out there....Its a precise set of transducers that do one thing well. Reproduce music with an uncannily "airy" presentation. They are what a Senn 8xx series should have been to me. Really light for their abilities. You can wear them all day and they disappear. More bass than 8xx series. Some call these bright...and they are bright...but realistic on the upper end. They will not tolerate mediocre recordings. Some want cans to "fix" their music. These cans are made to expose music for whats in it. Razor sharp resolution. They exhibit a clarity that is one of the best for a dynamic driver and other driver types. Packed well, exceptional box. One SE cable, long. Very comfy earpads. I have D8000 Pros as well, totally different cans, but compliment each other very well. The ADX 5000's have a wonderful "airy" soundstage...listening to live recordings brings out the depth and details in the venue..whether in a studio or auditorium. You can see into the recording and often discover things you never heard before. Highly recommended for the serious listener of music.

Very clear and balanced sound

Just got it for my newly arrived bha100 amplifier (also made by audio technica). The headphones itself is with a very healthy middle band and a naturally extended high frequency response, adding a suitable bass. The sound stage is also impressing, thanks to its open-back structure. Under my bha100 The sound is a little bit warmer, making it even better atmosphere for pop musics.
