Excellent, helpful guide.
Excellent, helpful guide, perfect for my 12-year old son to find his way around the night sky with his new Celestron travel telescope!

Generally excellent
This book is generally excellent for beginners, but goes perhaps too deeply into constellations. Fewer with more depth of information might be better.
A glaring omission is advice on how to choose a telescope. It suggests joining a local astronomy group for this. Although this is of course good advice, it may not be an option for some in remote areas - paradoxicallylikely to be "dark sky" areas which best for observations!
