Beautiful engraving but far too small

Bought this for a close (male) friend's 30th birthday present as I wanted it to be something special. It's gorgeous but sadly way too small. He's a big (viking-sized) guy. Asked my regular-sized bf to try it on and it barely fit. Feels like you'd almost snap it trying to get it on. Lovely design and well made but sadly I can't gift it to my friend.
