Red Cedar Traditional Backless Bench

The bench is quite lovely and sturdy. Heavier than we would have thought. We girls couldn’t complete the assembly, we needed Dad to come drill through a knot hole. But we like it!

High quality product, delivered a week before it was promised

Sturdy, attractive, solid, well-built. Assembly was relatively easy, although time-consuming because the Allen wrench doesn't have room for more than a half-turn before having to be removed and reinserted. Not a significant bother, given the high quality of the design and materials, but then I only ordered three benches. I expect these to last and look good for many years to come.

After finishing up assembling 24 of these benches it would be nice if more care was taken in lining up holes. 99% of them don’t allow the Allen key to fully rotate (too close to the seat) which means tiny little quarter turns to tighten. Probably not an issue if you are only doing a couple ….. the benches themselves are totally as advertised. Sturdy and attractive, they will be well used for years at the Berkshire Botanical Garden in Stockbridge.
