Tormach 770® Fixture Tooling Plate

The precision and quality is just awesome. When I align workpieces or my 5" vise for example i find myself checking if my Probe even has contact because its needle does not move at all. Excellent! I made some soft jaws for the mod vise and in my a youtube video about that I gave you guys some well deserved compliments on your products.

SMW 4140 fixture plate is truly a masterpiece of quality control. I originally had another fixture plate from a different manufacturer and the product is night and day. The fact that you can use the edge of the plate as a reference screams product value and care was taken. I am super pleased with my purchase and look forward to making some chips. The packaging was above par, but the only thing I would recommend is a little more of box cardboard to prevent any kind of movement as well as extra padding since shipping carriers are getting less and less careful with handling items especially anything above 30lbs. My box had some visible signs of the edges of the plate punching through at the corners.

Every thing arrived with no damage during shipping. I did have a minor problem that SMW has solved. The mounting bolts were to long and bottomed out in the T nuts before tightening down to the plate. I contacted Alex about the problem and they have shipped replacement bolts and T nuts.
