Emma Girls Top & Dress

Love the Emma dress!

I am so glad I found VFT patterns! I've been dissatisfied with the big 4 pattern brands since my daughters were small. Now I have 3 year old twin granddaughters to sew for and this dress was a delight to sew for them. We loved the 1960s look of this pattern. I love the variety of options to mix and match. I used a very soft pinwale corduroy floral print and solid cotton for the collar and a "cuff" when I realized I cut the sleeve at 3/4 length when I meant to cut a long sleeve. I used size 2 snaps with buttons on top instead of buttonholes a) for greater ease of dressing the girls and b) my machine isn't great at buttonholes, especially on corduroy. I didn't have enough corduroy to cut the pattern pieces correctly on the nap, so instead I have a mirror pair of dresses, which seems about right for identical twins! I will definitely be making variations of Emma and ordering other patterns. VTF designs are so refreshingly different! Well done!

And by that I mean, the ability to select the exact size range you need for printing purposes! I LOVE this new feature! It really is a time save when you're in a crunch to get things sewn! Great addition to a beautiful pattern!
