Had my sliding door automated with an Autoslide years ago. Life is so much easier!!! I think my Autoslide must have let my dogs in and out thousands of times over the years without a glitch. Super dependable and reliable, Autoslide is a "must have" if you have dogs and a sliding door.

I purchased these sensors to work with the pet function of the door opener. The work great. I was warned that the sensors don't work well with a black dog by their advisor. I thought the sensor was worth a try anyway. My dog is getting older now and has had a grey beard for awhile. He knows to go to the sliding glass door to go out. All I did was to make a mark on the glass of the door as to where he usually stood "nose to door". The sensor is so adjustable that it was easy to find the happy spot that worked every time he came to the door. If you don't have a black dog then use your hand if front of the sensor to adjust it. A black dog with no greying at the nose just needs a bit of reflective tape on his collar. Then adjust the sensor a bit further from the glass to see the tape at his neck. This system does really work well. Solved all kinds of problems for us as our dog is older now and has to go out more often. A special thanks to Joseph from Autoslide who worked me thru some other issues. He is their response "team". They have some great products in the wings for later this year. The i3 sensor, as I understand it will be replaced by a chip on the collar to be picked by a new sensor. The control unit seem to be flawless. With the "inputs" being improved soon, then I think there is no other option for getting your pet outside when you are away. If you don't have a good option to install a pet door in your home then this is the way to go. I don't have any connection with the company, just a happy customer.
