Nickle Solution

If I put the nickle solution on a nickle it shows pink, but so far it hasn't shown pink on anything else, including a ring that I know has nickle content in it. I have tried it on several items and still no pink. A little disappointing as I need to know what has nickle and what doesn't. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

It finds nickel, so it's useful. I wish there was a better way to know if the solution was coming out of the bottle or not; because it's clear, it's pretty hard to tell without sticking my face into the q-tip to smell some toxic fumes...
